Diamond Diaries will not load

playing Diamond Diaries saga app on ipad and it looks like it want to give a continuous play bonus but will not start the game.  I am at level 644, I think, and it is trying to complete a jewel reward and gold brick reward. Then it resets back to opening screen. I have most current version of iOS and DIamond Diaries. I can see that others reported this a year ago. Is there a resolution?

Thanks for the response. Miraculously after 2 days it started working again and I did no further updates or reboots.
