Well, it's usual for characters to do their power after their meter is fully filled and there be 0 moves. I don't consider it a bug, I think it can be helpful if you can use extra moves.

You are not doing anything wrong. Characters you get appear on the pre-level screen, although not all characters will appear due to how a level appears and what it has. If you unlock costumes for a character, you can change its costume by tapping the shirt below it.

Who could I be kidding...? That sound I talked about has never played, plays, nor will ever play on my phone! It's not a channel, it's something in the sound engine for the Android version that "forbids" (?) several sounds from playing on older devices!! But I can be OK with the Windows 10 version; at least it does play…
