If your level is faulty and there are no yellow candies you have to stop playing until King fix it:

They have changed the yellow candies to blue according to your image. I still have yellow candies in my game at the same level. So it's just a subgroup of unlucky players that seems to be affected.

If the game hangs up I usually manage to still get the gold bars by closing the app and reloading it. If you start the next episode race you won't get the gold from the previous one. There is nothing you can do if you make a purchase with gold bars by mistake. However those paint brushes are a good booster. Place them next to a colour bomb on the opening board of one of the tricky levels and you can create a colour bomb+stripe combo. If you have a super charger it will fire off twice and probably help…
