You can buy the scoop for the beans. And at the level with the raccoon disgusting you can use beans. I hope this helps you further. For a better explanation, I'll give you a player expert.

In the Farm Heroes Saga game, the green Magic beans are not used to buy gold bars. You must use money to buy gold bars.

The magic beans are used to "buy" companions at each level. You can learn more about these companions by searching this site (or Google) for the article entitled "What are Companions and the Farm Club?"

Your friends can send you magic beans as well as extra lives. If you want to "win" gold bars, check the Contest" area of this community -- occasionally there are fun events that offer the chance to win gold bars.

As spinnifix said you can also buy shovels with the beans, but you have to have 0 before you can buy any more, otherwise they will cost gold if you buy them within the level. You can buy the beans shovels at the beginning of each level before you hit play.
