Understood that you wish to play with your friend in Facebook. If they haven't play the game and you wish to invite them, you may refer to the steps below:-
Finding the games your friends are playing
You can find out what other games your friends are playing so you can join in the fun. Check out one of the following:
- App Center: When you go to the App Center page, you see which games your friends are playing. Scroll down and click the Friends’ tab. You see a list of games and other apps with information indicating which friends are playing these games (or using these apps).
Invites and news feed updates: If you’re invited to a game by a friend, you can rest assured that your friend has been playing that game. Many of the games have an Invite option. This feature makes Facebook games social! You can access any invites by clicking the Requests link in the left sidebar.
You may also join Farm Heroes Saga Fan page in Facebook to add other players in your game.
Since you are playing your game via laptop and using Microsoft, the app is downloadable free from Microsoft site. After you downloaded it, please log in your game with your King account and you're ready to go. All your progress and lives will be saved.

Already tried everything suggested. Nothing changes. Still FB friends not syncing, but only on my PC. I do not have these issues on my iphone or ipad.

If it's still not worked, How about you can click here (Facebook) 👈 (This solve discussion by Community Team) to read and follow troubleshooting steps of this problem (crashing/loading) that I hope this helps. 😊

Doesnt sync on Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Had to download a 4th browser (ridiculous!) Opera. The only one that syncs all FB friends. Hopefully all others will eventually catch up.... until the next update! So done!!

If you are playing via the windows 10 app @topbrat you don't need to add new browsers. I only have Chrome and mine works fine. Just out of interest have you updated permissions on your original browser? Facebook have made many changes the last few weeks and even those that are saying active, actually aren't.
For future reference you can find out how to check permissions here
If all else fails, open facebook. Remove the farm heroes app, clear cache and cookies and restart the browser. Find the app on Facebook, readd it to your account and it will ask for all permissions again.
