try to do 10 levels a day or more and maybe events will start to appear, success seems to me that at 75 the boosters trail event will appear, it will help you a lot to climb

It does matter a little. If players still play on Facebook they won't get the events.

Sometimes, as you've found, you just need to make sure you update the game. Even if you have it set to auto, it doesn't always do it straight away.
And even if you hadn't had the event, you will get some of the events. Everyone gets some of the events, just not all. Even @QueenB and us mods don't always get the events. That's just how it goes.
