how come I can't use my key to open screened boxes level 1173

Does your Level 1173 look similar to the video example?
If it's the same, there are no locked blocks in this level.
You can tell a locked block by the small padlock on it.
This level just has mesh and cages which need line blasters (or rockets or bombs) to destroy them
