Same problem playing on PC. Also won't let me save progress… Tells me "You're offline. Connect to Internet and try again," when I am on online! Started the app via the Microsoft Store…

Thank you again @DieOmimi I managed to work out the issue and I think this is some advice for anyone playing via Windows. When your monthly PC update is due, some apps are disabled or runs slow.
