I am out leaving with just 1.3 million and in 35th place. Seriously this is ridiculous I played consistently without dying and with a super candy ball and could not keep up. From all the rounds I played 8 out of 15 of the rounds had no purples and when I did get them they were less than 3000. So how are people pulling in…

Yes the purples only count when you pass the level, if you lose and give up it actually tells you how many purples you are losing out on.
