Good idea. They can detect the infection with a blood test, but since the cure only works if given the first 72 hours, I don't know if they could turn the lab around fast enough. They'll give you the dose if they think it's a good idea.

I'm sorry about the tick; what a way to spoil a great weekend. If it was a Lyme bearing tick, a single dose of the prescription antibiotic, Doxycycline, can help, if taken within 72 hours of exposure. Why not check with your doctor?
