I don't work for King sorry, but in my opinion I don't think you can claim back something that was free in the first place when the game gives you the opportunity to earn more.

Have you tried anything your side to see if there's an issue. Try another browser, try clearing out your browser cache. Maybe the game is still suffering but you can try these things in the meantime.
