I asked about the number at the top when you run out of moves and someone pointed out it is the number of blue candies you would have scored if you finish. I can confirm this is what that number is - it is the number of blue candies you got on that level so far.

I'm pretty positive Star Tournament levels counted 30x last year. There was a player in the final round who led for a while near the end of the map.
