I did something similar, although I activated mine about 18 minutes before the end of the round. I assume that I will not see it reactivated when the new round starts. Note that it gave a warning when you activated it indicating it was too late to use it for the full 30 minutes.

If christinewupp was correct about there being a need to achieve a certain score (at least to come through with all tokens intact), there might be too many people who got through and more than 10…

Maybe that's how they show it when you didn't qualify for the final round? Since you didn't qualify, there's no more benefit to the tokens, so no need to show them? That's just a guess, but it seems to me it might make sense.
