Hello @DGBentley @footsiemoore and welcome to Soda community! In Social Hub latest update it's not possible to ask teammates for lives through team chat anymore, I'm sorry. Lives and boosters can only be requested inside Social Hub feature. There's the option to befriend teammates and ask them for lives inside Social Hub 🙂

Soda Studio is aware of the issues players have when they send out requests but don't receive lives/boosters after friends respond. We got the news that a fix for those bugs should be released next week 🙂
