Event's come and go all the time, Bubblegum hill will make the rounds again at some point. Personally I think it's nice to see that they're still adding new events to play.

As long as you actively connected your game to either Facebook or Kingdom, your progress will be saved and synced to it. If you did, when you reconnect to that account in the game again, the progress from the point where it was last synced will come up.

If you check on Facebook and load the game directly there, you'll be able to see for sure where to game synced you at last. If it's where it should be then you can go through the troubleshooting steps given here: https://care.king.com/en/candy-crush-saga/lost-your-connection-to-facebook-ios

You'd need to either contact the store or the app developer themselves, there should be a point of contact in a receipt you should of received. If you didn't get one you should probably check your Google Play account directly for it. Also, if you don't have password protection enabled for purchases, it might be a good idea…
