Play most of the time on FB. When it says a friend sends me cards when I first open the game, how do I get them?

Normally you should have the cards available when you start the game on Facebook. If not then try removing the app on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications
After removing the app you can now reactivate it by installing it again: https://apps.facebook.com/pyramidsolitairesaga/
All your game progress and items will still be there after this procedure and you should now have the cards next time your friends are sending them.
