As long as you actively connected your game to either Facebook or Kingdom, your progress will be saved and synced to it. If it's the same issue then troubleshooting will most likely not change anything, will probably have to wait for another update to resolve this.

The only thing you can do is be careful where you tap and press, purchase lock is only on monetary purchases and not in-game ones. I kicked my habit of frantically tapping after a failed level due to doing this and using gold where it was not needed.
