Could you share a screenshot of the "do not update" message you're getting? It's a first for me, never seen that before. What's stopping you from playing by the way, tech issues or have you made it to the top level?

It's not a fully implemented feature seeing as it wasn't rolled out to everyone, might be the end of the promotion for now.

If you're on Windows 10 the best thing to do is download the game app from the Windows Store instead, much smoother than playing through a browser window. Is that where you say you don't get mail? If so, do you get the notifications in your Facebook that says you've been given a life?

Does that happen when the corner blocks are the only squares left to fill with jam or did you have some left which needed to be covered?

When you added the game, did you allow it access to your friends list in the permissions? If you denied it, you're friends won't appear in the list. You can either go to the app setting pages and modify from there or remove the game from your Facebook, when you add it again it will ask you to set the permission levels once…
