I came across a player in RC named “CHINA Virus”

During the current pandemic I feel that this is extremely insensitive, not only to anyone from China, but also everyone who has lost or has a loved one suffering with COVID-19.

I contacted support with my concerns.

I was told they could see nothing wrong with this, it was MY problem and maybe I should delete the player from Facebook 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

I was told it was “fun and safe”

id genuinely like to know if I am the only person here that feels the way I do.

please let me know what you think, either way.

    Hi @Heidstar

Personally I think majority of us do not support racism and yes it's insensitive👍

If the player isn't in the community we are unable to flag the user name and maybe contacting Facebook with your concerns may be an avenue you can try. You can also delete them if you choose.

Yes there are differing senses of humour and I am truly sorry for anyone who is offended by the user name.

Unfortunately there are some who post/ comment/ have names that are sometimes more of an in the moment decision, without always thinking of the faces behind the screen. Not everyone is conscious of their Digital Citizenship or Digital Footprint.

Thankfully here in our Jelly Ohana many do show Community Spirit 🥰🙌🌼

How is it insensitive or racist @Heidstar? No one ever says that Asian Flu, or German measles is racist. There are a number of diseases named after the place they originated in, that doesn't make them racist it makes them factual.

On the other hand if the player had named themselves after people that lived in China then I would agree with you.

Very good point @Alienscar. I don't believe saying china virus or Chinese virus is racist. I am of German descent and have no problem with China virus, Asian flu or German measles.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
