Candy corn was originally called chicken feed ๐Ÿคฏ

Though many would argue that candy corn tastes like chicken feed, that's not how it got its original name. Created in the 1880s by George Renninger, it was sold to the masses by Goelitz Confectionery Company (now Jelly Belly Co.) at the turn of the century.

Because corn is what was used to feed chickens, the creation was called "Chicken Feed" and the box was marked with a colorful rooster.

  • Hello @MountainMom and thanks for the tag @Diamond_Lim.

My piece of trivia is that Halloween is not a big deal in Australia and is only now confined to some kids trick or treating.

I also joined in because I want the badge ๐Ÿ˜Š

@Racoon7 I don't know any Halloween trivia and was at a loss on what to post. It came to me while reading the post above yours, teal pumpkins!๐Ÿ˜„ My son has a severe life threatening peanut allergy so I'm familiar with them. I scroll down to next post and just my luck what do I see...a teal pumpkin.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ The timing kills me!

After wearing a bag in Friday the 13th Part 2, the script for Part 3 called for Jason to wear a mask, but the crew didnโ€™t really know what to do with that. One day, Steve Miner called for a lighting check, but no one wanted to apply make-up for the test, so they just put a mask on Richard Brooker (who played Jason in Friday the 13th Part III). As it turns out, 3D effects supervisor Martin Jay Sadoff happened to have a bag of hockey gear with him on the set that day, as he was a big hockey fan, so they used his Detroit Red Wings goaltender mask for the test. Miner liked the look and it's one of the most iconic objects in the horror genre to this day.

  • As in Pakistan we don't celebrate Halloween ๐Ÿฆ‡ but here are some traditions of Halloween

1.Making Jack-o'-Lanterns. During the Halloween season, you'll see Jack-o'-Lanterns on almost every front porch

    2.Wearing spooky costumes

    3.Trick-or-treating

    4.Visiting haunted houses

    5.Telling scary stories.

Happy Halloween ๐ŸŽƒ ๐Ÿฆ‡ ๐Ÿง›โ€โ™‚๏ธ in advance to those who celebrate..โค๏ธ
