The same thing is happening to me as well. Sounds as if there is a glitch in the game.

You have to press the button at the very bottom toward the right. Its very sensitive for some reason, but was able to finally get on that level

Randall, I have the latest updates, I have excellent connection, and I'm logged into Kingdom. I still cannot ask for lives because the area is grayed out!!
