My Kindle has been notifying me that Blossom Blast needs a manual update for several days. It appears that the update downloads but then I get a message that the update failed.
If the update isn't downloading then I think this would be an Amazon error related to your device or your account. Do you get any kind of error code or message. Have you tried checking this with Amazon support?
