The companion animals can only be used on certain levels, they appear in the pre-game screen and then you use your magic beans to purchase them to help you in the level. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Wu07PMyc

Eugene, from what I understand you can only save up lives on mobile (even then they can disappear) but on facebook as soon as you close the game you lose any lives you have been sent so its not possible to save them up.

It's not possible with the method you described sorry Chris. You will only be able to play and share lives with the friends you have on King.com. Unless you start a new King.com account of course and then sync this with your new Facebook.

I don' think there is sorry PJ, check out this thread, there's a moderator answer that was posted a little while back. It kinda explains that the boosters are stored on your tablet, so any kind of update or restart can cause them to be lost: https://care.king.com/en/candy-crush-saga/why-did-my-boosters-disappear
