Why aren't I getting lives from friends?

I haven't received any lives other than the ones I normally have in a couple of weeks. I know friends have sent them, but I got nothing. I am frustrated to the point of uninstalling!

Hi my friend lives are very hit and miss its just a case of sending repeated requests and they will soon start to come through 💓
