If you had been previously saving your progress if you play any level then close down and leave your device off for a moment or two this should bring back all your saved progress 💓

Please check for any pending updates then log out not just close down then leave your device off for a moment or two let's see if this resets it for you

I play on an iPad Air (7th gen) running iOS 16.6.1.
have tried what you suggest, more than once, including shutting down and rebooting device.
deleted the app and reloaded it, that worked but lost all progress in the game!
