Even though I receive and accept additional lives, they do not show up in my life "count'"

I am not sure how true this is. years I have always been able to accrue more than five lives at a time. Additionally, there is so-and-so has sent you a life. Send one in return option when collecting them. Unfortunately, this doesn't answer my question and I am still struggling to get my lives and to accrue my life. If, what you say is true, that you can only accrue five lives at a time, I think I am done with this game. This is most unfortunate as I have been playing it since it's inception.
please let me know if I am misunderstanding and clarify what you mean, or confirm my understanding is correct.

Please note that if you already have 5 lives, the lives on your envelope won't be added to those 5 lives. In addition to that, not all the messages you see are lives sent to you. They can also be requests for lives from your friends that you are accepting to send them.
If despite this, your lives are still not being added, please share a video showing this issue so that our team can investigate. Thanks in advance and have a great day.

What is happening with the ongoing issues on this forum page and layout being fixed? I brought this to your attention as soon as the page was released. NOTHING has changed!!!!!
I opened the game today & noticed my lives are missing that were sent by other players. Last night I had over 50 when I closed out the game. Where did they go & how do I get them back? Also today there are no ads offered? Are you taking away ads as an option for help completing levels?
