I don't have any issues with this except on Weekly Contest (And sometimes on Chocolate Box). This week I played a bit more the Star Tournament, though.

That's apparently the same issue I've seen in Tuesday on my Android device where not one but three gift cards all worth 430 Gold bars were shown, one with 200 bars, one with 30 bars and another with 200 bars. Claimed but not added. Definitely an issue.

I do have ads still as I've never spent any money in the game. Strange.

So I guess if you can't get the new Season Pass then you'll still have the events tab in your game.

I guess the way they offer the new Season Pass is the same as the way they offer the new Chocolate Box style. My account, at the top of the map does not have the new Season Pass. I've had a similar issue days ago where 3 gift cards popped up. One had 200 Gold, another 30 Gold and the last again 200 Gold, making up to 430 Gold. I pressed Claim on all three and while those pop ups faded away, none of the rewards the Gift Card contained were added to my account.

The first levels with the new blocker were easy to pass. The last level of the new 60 ones had that blocker as well. Yet hasn't appeared in a pure-spinks level yet.

This tutorial, while was a good ones on how to pass that level, is starting to become useless as at least on my device, I started to get a selective? redesign that completely changes the design of the level.
