something happened to my game over night. I had 49 gold bars and now I have zero when launching the game. Not sure how to get help with that.

If you are properly logged into your account, please have Support check your holdings. We in the community do not have access to your account. Proceed as follows: Open the game. Go to Settings (the gear icon). Then tap the question mark. Select the "Technical Help" section (the third topic). Then tap the "Contact" button and describe your problem. Your personal data and ID will be sent to Technical Support. Using this information, the staff can check your account's recent activity, what your gold bars were used for, and so on.

I am logged in and they are still gone
Did you log out? If you have lost everything mentioned, I suspect you aren't logged into your actual account. Could you please check that?
