I see two things now that I have it back. The "improvement was pure on the code side to make it work with whatever other changes they have made to the game engine. Ya it is gone. You will get used to the slower speed again. It is very jarring at first but it is not too bad. It is fun watching all the algorithm nonsense… oh so a 4 candy straight line can make wrapped candies as well now? Neat!
