I am on a laptop, so all I do is select Candycrush and the message about my date of birth keeps coming up, I can hear the game tune in the background. However I tried what LazyVampire suggested, highlighted my day of birth pressed enter and hey presto the continue button turned green and I am back playing again.

I'm going to give that a try, thanks for the tip. I get the same message with Pet Rescue BTW.
