I don't think there is much you can do. I know the events run for a limited time but if its disappearing and reappearing, I have no idea. Do you still have them in the inbox (there should be a red exclamation mark in there) Could this have something to do with lollipop since it is a fairly new version?

I know that the events are timed but it's normally something like 24/48 hours so maybe this is the reason? Try disconnecting and reconnecting from Facebook/Kingdom and seeing if they return. I don't think there is much you can do if they don't return though. Not solved.

OK never mind. I closed the game at 53 hours remaining on the chests. When I came back one hour and 30 minutes later they were gone again. No amount of logging in/out helped this time. Extremely disappointed.
