There is nothing wrong with the version, there is something wrong with the developers. Every time I see a Kiara's post I know they are laughing at us and rubbing their hands in glee. Kching kching kching.

I wish King found real moderators to moderate instead of the bot kiara_wael who's been posting the same reply over and over for years. That's what I did, I quit. Checking here occasionally to see if the option to close Royale has been restored, and I feel vindicated to see more and more pages with the same complaint.

Still not fixed. Estimated time of arrival of the solution so we can play CC again?

You can close them all and keep playing, unlike Royale. In Royale, you HAVE to PLAY whether you want it or not. Popping up and completely blocking are two very different things.
