I have the same problem with the trifle (or whatever it is). If I select it, the screen then greys out and I can't continue the game.

Thanks for reply which partially answered my question. My purchase of 10 gold bars was successful, but I was unable to return to the game to use them. Now as soon as I fail a game, the screen goes immediately to "contacting app store" even though there are 12 gold bars available to use to continue. The screen buffers for…
