Can you try disconnecting the game from your Facebook or King account, then close the game app and restart your device? Once done, connect the game app back to your Facebook or King account and give it another try.
Do you see purple star candies when you're playing? If yes, you should have the event when it starts tomorrow. When you open the game app, try playing a couple of levels first and leave the app open for few minutes and see if the event pops up under the event tab 😉
