Did you get an answer to this? I have a piggy bank so I'm confused why you don't. I'm also trying to figure out why I cant spend my gold bars or can inky spend some of them- I'm always being asked to spend $$ and told I don't have enough when my piggy bank is allegedly full. 

Did you get an answer to this? I have the same issue. And it will only let me use some of the gold bars in an allegedly full piggy bank.
