Why did the tab with my quests disappear and how can I get it back?

I play CCS on 2 different Kindle devices.  On my older device, all of a sudden my quests and challenges (like, get 3000 green striped and get a booster) were missing from one game start up to the next.  Cust support said to update the app...I uninstalled on both kindles and reinstalled.  The newest Kindle has the tabs back and the history is there; the older kindle, nothing happened except that I now have over a hundred gold bars which I did not have before.  I tried syncing the progress so that each device would have the same game but it appears they both have different versions of it.  What's up with that?  I'd rather use my older one to continue to play.
