Lost boosters? Really?

Marianne-13Marianne-13 Posts: 3 Newbie

I had to reinstall candy crush soda on my iPad and all the boosters were lost. I gather King will NOT give them back? This is so outrageous that I think I will quit the game at level 1570! Great policy! What a scam!

Hi Marianne, any bought boosters can be refunded so no money is lost :)

And how does one get the money back? Still, I had a few for which I "worked" hard. I gave up on the game. That's just not fun anymore. So unfair.

You don't get the money back for the boosters that you had purchased, but the boosters are returned, you just need to request them and they can easily sort it out.

I understand what you mean about the earned boosters, please don't think I am brushing that off. I am not. I don't work for King, I only volunteer so I am just a regular player and I earn boosters the same as you do.

Let me explain how it works.

On a pc you have to be logged in, either through Facebook or the Kingdom. Everything you buy or earn is saved onto the game itself.

On mobiles/tablets, that wouldn't work. Gamers like to play on the move, some have data limits, some travel where there is no mobile signal so they have to be able to play offline. To play offline you need to access your boosters so they are saved in your phone/tablet memory not the game.

Updates, reinstall etc cause them to be wiped with all the game data to be re-written so any fault that might be there that is caused by devices, is wiped too.

Unfortunately because of being able to use them offline, it means none of the boosters that you earn are tracked as such, or you could use them and they wouldn't be tracked.

This is purely my speculation and nothing to do with King whatsoever. My take on that is that people have possibly tried claiming too many times for lost boosters when in fact they haven't been and this is a way of stopping that. There are always people that abuse the system unfortunately. And no, I don't think you would before you think I do. There are always people though that will, so its safer for King because at the end of the day, they need people to buy sometimes or their staff don't get paid, the games don't get made.

Sometimes though with situations like this, the King team will often send a few sweeteners through when you have had to install for issues as a gesture of goodwill especially if asked nicely :)

Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I guess will write to King and see what they say.
