Why are my gold bars disappearing?

I few weeks ago I had over 100 gold bars. Two weeks ago it dropped to 92. I don’t know why, but I thought I had done something on accident. A couple days later, it dropped to 90. Today, it was suddenly down to 52. I haven’t been spending any gold and I’ve been playing this game for a long time. What’s going on? Thanks.
