Why isn’t gold bars earned consistent with amount of time I am “King”? Some times I’ll get 2-3 after 5mins, other times 10-15. 

Also when dethroned & ask to play again, game will not let me play for extended time

With regards to the Gold Bars we are rewarded -- I too have this question from a while now!  But thought since nobody has asked about this, it must be normal   Since you have raised the same question, I will take it to our Community In-charge team and find out some info about it  

With regards to not letting you play -- All you have to do is press on "Go Back" button that is located at the bottom right corner (with Kimmy) and then come out of the game from "Settings" icon - which is located in bottom left corner.  Now, get back into your game again and go to the BGH, you will see that all the Check marks are removed and you will find the levels open for you to play  

Sometimes, if that does not work, you will have to clear the cache, then restart the device after few minutes and log into the game again.  This will definitely opens the BGH again.
