Pretty much every level I've played today has a pirate hat under the boosters making it seem like I'll get one for passing said level but I don't actually get them? Anyone else having this issue? Or am I confused about how to get these hats?

I'm under the understanding that you get 'stars' when your teammates pass levels, not you. Kinda sucks...
Ahoy there! The Pirate Hats are part of the Shipmates feature, just to understand better what you mean, would you be able to submit a screenshot of your game? 😊
I think the hat you are seeing is the hat that shows up when you are helping a friend get ammunition in Shipmates, but to be sure please submit a screenshot.
