I've never played an adventure season in soda before this one. This is my son's account I'm playing in because mine doesn't have it. What's the next step when we complete this one? I don't know what I'm supposed to do next?

I'm not sure. It looks like you had an early release of the event and was able to complete it already. Most players should have started to play this event 5 days ago and have completed only the first set of the first chapter. That's my progress as well 😅
As for the Candy Hunt leaderboard, to me it appears after playing a level. did you try playing a level?
