the directions do not make sense to me how to recover my team friends.

did you check the steps above? They help the game reconnect with the servers and then available features appear in the game
Icon disappeared showing my team. Added lives & help team member with lives is gone. This has happened before but then is shows up again. Hopefully that will happen

Do you mean the team you had joined cannot be found inside the Teams icon?
did you check for troubleshooting steps?
f you own Android mobile, visit device Settings - Apps - Candy Crush Soda Saga - Storage - Clear Cache. Be careful not to click "clear data" which deletes your boosters
If you own Apple mobile, visit Settings - Safari - Clear History and Website Data
If you own a Kindle fire, check this out
