Hello I just checked back and it was confirmed that in this mode you can only make 4-in-a-row either Horizontally (----) or vertically |.
Hope you can finish the rows with the others players soon!

It seems like the 4 in a row is not registering diagonally. I'll reach out to the studio about this, but for now, you should be able to register it by completing a row horizontally or vertically.
