I used to get ads to get free lives now I don't get them anymore as of today. I was getting them up until this morning. Can somebody explain this now I have to wait 3 hours to get five lives it's ridiculous.

Ads feature has not been removed from players game. However it's not a permanent feature in players' games: it may become available to some players for a period of time and unavailable to others. It rotates among players' groups so players can try this out. Please read here for more information
Players are advised to make sure the game is always up to date: ads feature might become available again soon as I hope it'll be in your case 🙂
