how do clear the cache on my iphone?

I am at a very important step in the game. I need at play on for points but it says I cannot connect to app store. I have the points. I do NOT want to lose my levels! I researched and was told to clear the cache but I don't know how! I don't want to close the game.

I found this YouTube video. You can forward to 1 min mark. He showed how to close the app which I think it also clear cache. That is how I do it when the game is giving problems.
