If I lose the extra bottles the first time I lose a game, how do they offer anything of value to the game?
Each bottle gives you extra help, so starting with 3 is better than starting with 1. Also if you don't lose the game and start with 3, you'll get to 4 and 5 faster, than if yiou started with 1.
