Yes, that's how it is for me too.
Now today, things so far are going ok. I had an update on my Ipad and wonder if it's responsible for videos working properly.
Time will tell I guess. Meanwhile, why don't you check to see if you might have an update available on your Ipad and it just might be the fix you need.

this is happening to me too but only on mt iPad. They seem to be working fine when I play on my Samsung phone
I have issues ongoing with ads starting and freezing with no opportunity to exit other than exiting the platform. Thereby losing time, if its a time challenge or progress if its not.
I click on the ad to play and I often get a message that "there is a problem and we are sorry!" So I lose out the opportunity to have more moves and complete the game.
Other times it works perfectly fine
I have shut down the game and also shut down my ipad. I also logged out of the game, then cleared the history on Safari, shut down the ipad and then restarted the ipad and logged back into the game. It helps for a time and then this problem repeats.
