I keep getting ripped-off in the coloring candies count. first my count was 4, matched one, went to 5, matched another one and the count went down to 4 !! I should only need 1 more.

If you own Android mobile, visit device Settings - Apps - Candy Crush Soda Saga - Storage - Clear Cache. Be careful not to click "clear data" which deletes your boosters
If you own Apple mobile, visit Settings - Safari - Clear History and Website Data
If you own a Kindle fire, check this out

no. It's in the challenges. Gotta match 7, I did 6 already. It did change back to 5 though. Going to check and see what it says this time.

In 4 in a row, coloring candies made by random cascades of candies don't count; The feature counts only coloring candies made by players when they manually match 6 or more candies of the same color.
