My profile picture has suddenly disappeared, and when I tried to reinsert it, the edit button for the picture is missing. How do I get it back? For some reason I cannot load a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

The missing profile picture may have been due to connection issues reported yesterday but they should be solved now. Try to got out from your account, restart device, log in and play a few levels (any levels) to make sure the game reconnected to the servers properly and check whether your current pic shows up.
As for the missing button to edit profile picture, it has been reported. Soda Studio informed us that this feature may or may not be available for the players at the moment and may return at a future point.
