I finished this week's levels on mobile, soda race started again when I no longer have levels to play the other players are overtaking me.

This problem will appear frequently after the Soda Race has a timer. Because when the timed Soda Race event appears, it will start your race instantly.
Soda race is a event to compete with other players' past record, it is not a real time contest.
I am sorry to tell you that you will lose this race and maybe downgrade if you get 4th. You have learnt a lesson from this problem. You should save levels next time.
